50 Days of 100 Wonders of the World – Day 4 part 1 Antarctica

Recently my wife bought the book: 100 Wonders of the World by Michael Hoffmann & Alexander Krings. I decided to take 50 days and go through it. I don’t know how many of these places will have vacation rentals, if they do, I’ll mention some resources; if they don’t, then I won’t.

Antarctica is covered by a permanent ice cap strafed by frozen winds and powerful storms.  In every way, the southernmost continent is a land of extremes.  It is the coldest place on earth, but also the driest and windiest.*

Oddly enough, I can’t find a map of Antarctica.  I guess, you just leave your house and head south until you can’t go no mo and voila “you’re there!”

One of the largest arenas of the Roman Empire can be found in the middle of the Tunisian desert.  The amphitheater of Thysdrus, an enormous structure, emerged out of the barren desert in just eight years.*
